Five flowers for a Bridgerton inspired wedding
Feeling inspired by the latest season of Bridgerton? Want your wedding to be the talk of the ton?
These are the five flowers I would use to capture the regency romance vibes of Bridgerton.
Garden roses
An absolute classic and for good reason. Large headed, ruffled roses are the perfect touch of romance. They have the classic English countryside cottage charm. Palettes of soft pink, blush and lilacs would really fit with the Bridgerton style.
2. Delphinium
A real showstopper of a flower. It adds height and drama to any floral design, whilst still being whimsical and effortlessly romantic. The powder blue tones pair beautifully with classic blooms like garden roses and sweet peas.
3. Lilac
Lilacs are a lovely choice for a Bridgerton inspired wedding. They are similar to wisteria, which features heavily in the TV show, but can be difficult to source in UK weddings. They’re soft and frothy and their clustered blooms evoke the romance of an English country garden. They add a natural abundance to arrangements and can be paired with other classic flowers for an elegant, whimsical, and timeless look.
4. Hydrangeas
Hydrangeas are a perfect choice. Their full, cloud-like blooms create a sense of abundance and opulence, very reminiscent of grand English garden displays. Their soft pastel shades, such as blue, blush, and lavender, fit beautifully within a Regency era colour palette. They add volume and drama to large scale arrangements, like archways and urns.
5. Trailing ivy
Not technically a flower! But foliage is an essential ingredient in the enchanting world of Bridgerton. It creates a sense of drama and abundance that captures regency era aesthetics. Ivy can be woven through bouquets, archways or table arrangements. It brings movement and softness, allowing flowers to spill gently as if they were gathered straight from a countryside estate.
